El hotel boutique O:live abre un ‘oasis en la azotea’
The Rooftop Club offers 4,000 square-feet of entertainment space with views of the Condado lagoon.
Less than a year after opening its doors in San Juan’s trendy Condado area, the O:live Boutique Hotel — owned by entrepreneurs Loisse Herger and Fernando Dávila — is cutting the ribbon on its “Rooftop Club,” an outdoor tapas and bar area overlooking the Condado Lagoon.
The club is designed to offer a “sophisticated oasis” for members and guests who will enjoy a “tapas” menu and a variety of wines and artisanal cocktails.
The new 4,000 square-foot Rooftop Club will generate 10 new jobs in addition to the 45 jobs already on the 15-room hotel’s payroll. Aside from boasting seating and bar areas, the facility also features a grilling area, two Jacuzzis and a pool.
“The rooftop completes the O:live experience. Now our guests can enjoy the pool, the bar, the view and go to the [Oliva] restaurant, without ever having to leave the hotel,” said Herger. “We also want our local customers use it as a private club and consider the rooftop an extension of the home.”
The investment for the new area was not disclosed. However, upon opening the boutique hotel in May 2012, the owners said they had pumped $2 million into transforming the facility located on Aguadilla Street in Condado.
Olive Boutique Hotel is part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World chain, which offers a selection of more than 500 hotels in more than 70 countries that abide by strict standards of excellence that qualify them for five-star ratings.
