The Parador Combate Beach Resort in Cabo Rojo inaugurated Tuesday a $500,000 expansion that adds 17 new rooms to the property located in Puerto Rico’s western flank, owned by XJTT Hospitality.

On hand for the ceremony were Tourism Company Executive Director Ingrid Rivera-Rocafort, Cabo Rojo Mayor Roberto Ramírez and property owners and staff.

“At Tourism, we’re pleased with the celebration of the 40th anniversary our small inns and now with the opening of these new rooms, six in the original building and 11 additional in the new building they have called La Hacienda del Parador,” said Rivera-Rocafort.

“These new rooms represent an economic impact of nearly $500,000 and more than 20 jobs for the ‘Porta del Sol’ tourist region. It also represents the work of Puerto Rican hands,” she added.

The Parador Combate Beach is located on the pristine El Combate beach in Cabo Rojo adjacent to the town’s Wildlife Refuge, which offers several amenities such as a 32-mile walking or running track bike along the coast and more than 126 species of local and migratory birds.

“With the opening of these new rooms, the Parador Combate Beach has the most diverse offer of accommodation to suit the needs of our guests including one specially equipped room for disabled people,” said Tomás Ramírez, who owns the property, along with José R. Ramírez, vice president, and Xavier A. Ramírez, secretary/treasurer.

The expansion unveiled Tuesday was first announced in September 2012, as this media outlet informado.
