N.Y. Fed President Dudley to visit Puerto Rico Nov. 28-29

Federal Reserve Bank of New York President William C. Dudley will visit Puerto Rico Nov. 28-29 to meet with leaders in the local community, government, business and education sectors, the agency announced Wednesday.
Dudley will meet with Gov.-Elect Ricardo Rosselló to discuss the transition into his new role and considerations for his upcoming term.
He will hold a roundtable discussion with New York Fed advisory council members and members of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce. He will also meet with representatives of the island’s manufacturing and service industries and leaders from the public and private sectors that represent or focus on financial institutions across the island.
In the area of community and economic development, Dudley will meet members of El Colaboratorio, a shared workspace organized by the Foundation for Puerto Rico where organizations can collaborate on their ideas and resources to contribute to Puerto Rico’s future development.
He will also meet with leadership from Parallel18, an economic development initiative that attracts early stage, high-impact startups to Puerto Rico, to discuss their efforts to help diversify and jumpstart economic development.
Dudley also will join the leadership of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico for a discussion on the organization’s initiatives and a site visit to learn about youth programs and services.
In the area of education, Dudley plans to meet with leadership from the University of Puerto Rico and will deliver remarks about opportunities for economic growth on the island.
In his remarks, Dudley will discuss lessons learned from U.S. municipalities that have faced similar crises over the years, such as New York City, and what those experiences might mean for Puerto Rico, the agency said.
