Abertis president reaffirms commitment to Puerto Rico

Salvador Alemany, president of Spanish infrastructure firm abertis, which is partner in the consortium that operates one of Puerto Rico’s busiest highways, was on the island Thursday participating in a series of meetings, including a brief encounter with Gov. Alejandro García-Padilla.
During the exchange, Alemany reaffirmed the company’s commitment to “continue collaborating for Puerto Rico’s well being and economic development, providing the island with world-class highways.”
Alemany met with University of Puerto Rico President Uroyoán Walker, who thanked the executive for establishing the “Cátedra abertis” program at the campus to bestow prizes to student who propose ways to develop transportation solutions that will improve the quality of life on the island.
Finally, Alemany also met with Secretary of State David Bernier and the Spanish Consul, Eduardo Garrigues.
Abertis operates the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge and is partner in the metropistas consortium that operates toll roads PR-22 and PR-5.
