PRFAA, Sen. Rick Scott’s office join forces to aid Puerto Ricans in Florida
The Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration has announced a partnership with the office of U.S. Sen. Rick Scott to expand support services for Puerto Ricans living in Florida.
Beginning Aug. 26, both offices will offer joint monthly services at PRFAA’s regional office in Orlando, a move officials said is intended to streamline assistance for the more than one million Puerto Ricans in the state.
“Florida is home to more than one million Puerto Ricans, hardworking men and women who contribute every day to our economy, our culture and our nation,” said PRFAA Executive Director Gabriella Boffelli. “This partnership ensures that they receive the services they need in a streamlined and accessible manner.”
PRFAA’s services include issuing certified copies of Puerto Rico birth, death and marriage certificates; providing apostille services for official documents; and assisting with Puerto Rican government procedures.
Scott’s office will help with federal agencies, offer support to veterans and provide U.S. passport application and renewal services.
The Orlando office is near the Social Security office, City Hall and the courthouse, and offers free parking and disability access. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Appointments can be made en línea, and monthly service dates will be posted on PRFAA’s social media channels.
