Princess Cruises returns to San Juan base port
Princess Cruises has returned to San Juan as a homeport with the Grand Princess, marking the start of a new cruise season that will run through April 5, 2026.
The 2025–2026 season includes 26 seven-night sailings, each carrying about 3,100 passengers and 1,500 crew members, generating an estimated $20.9 million in economic impact for Puerto Rico, officials said.
The weekly itineraries feature routes through the Eastern Caribbean, with stops in Tortola, St. Kitts, Dominica, Grenada, Barbados, St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Antigua, among others.
The routes are designed to offer variety and two-week combinations with minimal port repetition, appealing to frequent travelers.
“The return of Princess Cruises with homeport operations in San Juan represents a strategic step in positioning Puerto Rico as a Caribbean leader in the cruise industry,” said Clarivette Díaz, general manager of San Juan Cruise Port.
“Each of these 26 departures is a concrete opportunity for hundreds of local businesses, from transportation and tour operators to merchants, artisans and restaurants,” she said.
Since beginning operations in February 2024, San Juan Cruise Port has invested more than $60 million in infrastructure upgrades and embarkation improvements, enabling the facility to handle larger vessels and compete in the global market.
