PRMA, Visa partner to promote digitalization, business entrepreneurship

The Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association (PRMA) announced a joint work agreement with Visa to promote the evolution of companies in the manufacturing and services sector toward accepting digital payments and embracing new technologies. The initiative aims to strengthen the business community and promote growth through innovation and digital transformation.

“This collaborative agreement marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing greater value to our partners and awareness about B2B [business-to-business] payment solutions, digitalization and knowledge on how to better manage payments,” said PRMA President Eric Santiago-Justiniano.

“We strive to provide tools and knowledge that enable merchant partners and entrepreneurs to adapt and thrive in the digital transformation era,” he added.

Visa has committed to educating retailers and supporting the trade organization’s Women’s Chapter to empower them and improve their capabilities in an increasingly competitive and digital commercial environment.

To achieve this, Visa will offer its educational platforms to manufacturers to help them capitalize on digital opportunities, improve operational efficiency and drive business growth, it said.

“Through this collaborative agreement that we announced with the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association, we want to help lead the manufacturing and services industry toward more modern, safe and reliable standards when it comes to making payments,” said Luis Guerra, general manager of Visa Puerto Rico.

“Puerto Rico has the ideal conditions to become an innovation hub, and one of those ways is alongside manufacturers, to extend the benefits of digital payments to the different industries that can benefit from the efficiency, transparency and convenience that paying and receiving with digital credentials offers,” Guerra stated.

Meanwhile, Yandia Pérez, executive vice president of the PRMA, emphasized the educational nature of the agreement. “With this collaboration, we reinforce the Association’s specialized transactions and digital payments educational program, with expert professionals who will support us during our key events and networking sessions, thus contributing to technological advancement and innovation for businesses in Puerto Rico.”
