Metro Women’s Business Center has opened applications for Academia Mujer Empresaria con FastTrac, an eight-week hybrid program aimed at helping women in Puerto Rico develop business ideas into structured enterprises.
The program is based on the FastTrac curriculum developed by the Kauffman Foundation and provides step-by-step guidance that allows participants to work directly on the design and development of their own businesses. Organizers said the academy emphasizes practical application, with sessions led by entrepreneurship specialists.
“FastTrac is not just a course; it is an applied learning experience that allows female entrepreneurs to turn ideas into viable business projects, with a clear foundation for their long-term growth,” the program announcement stated.
The upcoming cohort begins Feb. 28 and marks the fourth time the FastTrac program has been offered in Puerto Rico through the Metro Women’s Business Center. The curriculum includes developing a strategic business plan, preparing financial projections, defining target markets and competitive positioning, and planning for business launch or expansion.
Academia Mujer Empresaria is part of the center’s broader effort to support women-led small businesses through training, advising and technical assistance. The program is open to women at various stages of entrepreneurship, from early concept development to formalizing or scaling existing operations.
The Metro Women’s Business Center said the initiative reflects its ongoing focus on strengthening women’s participation in Puerto Rico’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by providing tools and knowledge to support sustainable business growth.
