Packers Provision launches new division — Packers Fresh Solutions

With the goal of continuing to provide solutions in service and variety of products, Packers Provision has expanded operations to incorporate a new fresh produce division, Packers Fresh Solutions.

Packers Fresh Solutions will have import familiar fruit and vegetable brands such as: Welch’s (grapes, strawberries;) Mott’s (apples, pears); Tropicana (oranges, pink grapefruit, pineapple, lemons and limes;) Green Giant (potatoes, asparagus, cilantro, basis and parsley among others;) Melon-Up (variety of melons;) and, Summeripe (peaches, nectarines.)

“We know that the local consumers seek quality and convenience. They want to receive the full experience,” said Packers Provision President Carlos Trápaga.

“With this in mind, the new division of Packers Fresh Solutions brings a number of solutions that provide quality and freshness alternatives that we can offer in the fresh perimeter of supermarkets implementing cross-marketing initiatives with products relevant to the area,” he said.

“The new division strengthens us as a company in the food industry positioning us as a business of complete solutions for our customers,” he added.

Packers Provision’s plans also call for working with local producers of vegetables and fruits such as lettuce, onion, carrots, as well as tropical fruits that include papaya, pineapple and melon.

Packers Provision’s growth has also included expansion of facilities such as Caribbean Cold Storage, the acquisition of a new fleet of trucks, as well as hiring more than 100 employees during the past eight months.
