Paid television provider Dish Puerto Rico announced Monday it has added discount club chain Costco to its list of retailers selling the service on the island. Costco joins Radio Shack, Kmart and Sears as the fourth national chain to offer DISH products, the company said. All four Costco stores in Puerto Rico have been outfitted with a DISH sales kiosks as part of the agreement.

“We are very pleased to add Costco to our national accounts. Costco’s concept of much favored by Puerto Rican consumers,” said Reynaldo Pagani, general manager of Dish Puerto Rico. “Costco’s presence will bring us incremental customers who go to these stores for good prices on appliances. The DISH Hopper is definitely the best complement on the market for that big screen TV that consumers look for at Costco.”

The DISH Puerto Rico kiosks at Costco will be managed by Wireless Advocates, a company that was already present at Costco selling wireless equipment. Customers who sign up to DISH at the Costco stores will have access to the same offers and packages available through a direct subscription. However, customers approved at Costco for the DISH service will receive a $100 store gift card.

“Costco’s offer is rather aggressive and is in line with the pricing practices of both companies,” said Pagani.
