Ford Puerto Rico Dealer Assoc. gives $13K to nonprofit

Ford Puerto Rico’s Dealer Association donated $13,500 to Alianza para un Puerto Rico sin Drogas (“Puerto Rico Drug-free Alliance”) for a second consecutive year, following an auction of a 2014 Ford Fiesta S during the Antique Cars Fair that took place earlier this month.
The Puerto Rico Drug-free Alliance aims to prevent the use, abuse and traffic of drugs through diverse educational, integrated programs that support massive communication campaigns and projects in schools, communities and companies.
“We appreciate Ford Puerto Rico’s Dealer Association’s valuable contribution through the auction of the Ford Fiesta S 2014 at the Antique Cars Fair. This will allow us to expand our educational/preventive services, facilitating the development of our children and youth,” said Roxanna de Soto, executive director of the nonprofit.
This initiative is part of Ford Motor Company’s Operation Better World program.
“Ford has a strong commitment to the community we are part of,” said Pablo Haase, regional director of Ford International Business Development for Puerto Rio, the Caribbean and Central America. “Our Dealer Association once again commits to those in need.”
“The Puerto Rico Drug-free Alliance can continue its mission of preventing drug use and educating young adults and children about the damages these cause; and that’s another stop we take towards improving the quality of life in the island,” he said.
Ford contributes more than $140,000 to goodwill initiatives, including nonprofit organizations and environmental conservation projects, company officials said.
