Diet Home Puerto Rico marks 11th anniversary

Local company Diet Home Puerto Rico, built from the bottom up by entrepreneur Hilda Arias-López to provide fresh alternatives in the competitive healthy eating market, recently marked its 11th anniversary catering to the niche.
Looking ahead, the company has plans to expand its diet options and services, Arias said.
“Our main focus is to help our clients transform their eating habits in a new lifestyle, knowing that we’re an alternative to preserved frozen meals that contribute nothing to nutrition,” Arias said of the operation that employs 26 people.
Diet Home Puerto Rico offers a wide range of delivered food — to homes and businesses — for breakfast and lunch, many with less than 400 calories, to natural shakes, fresh juices with no preservatives or added chemicals.
The food business began operations in 2003 in a small retail space of 400 square meters, with a cook and about six customers.
“Little by little the word of mouth about our services started reaching many people. At first, my children were the ones who performed deliveries in the morning,” she said, of the family business that grew exponentially with the opening of a restaurant-deli in Puerto Nuevo.
Among the various diets Diet Home offers are: Zone Diet, Detox Pineapple, Super Detox, personalized diet and a weight control diet developed with specialist Michael Soler.
This year, Diet Home struck an exclusive partnership with MCS as a provider for the insurer’s Medicare patients.
