Puerto Rico hosts C2S tech forum with AI industry leaders
Puerto Rico strengthened its position as a growing technology hub by hosting the C2S Annual Meeting, which brought together executives from HP, Microsoft and IBM to examine the impact of artificial intelligence on the digital economy.
The event, themed “Innovation, Leadership and the Future: Navigating the New Era,” linked C2S offices in the Dominican Republic and Venezuela with teams in Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, the United States and Madrid.
Industry experts presented talks such as “How HP Approaches AI,” “Microsoft’s Perspective on AI” and “AI and Its Challenges.” The sessions focused on how AI is reshaping industries and redefining competitiveness in global and local markets.
AI is no longer an optional experiment for businesses but a defining element of competitiveness, said José Carlos Sariol, Microsoft’s senior specialist of Cloud and AI Platforms. He outlined a framework for companies to move from vision to execution.
Sariol described a road map based on four pillars: enriching the employee experience, reinventing customer engagement, transforming business processes and sustaining continuous innovation. The goal, he said, is to shift from isolated projects to adoption at scale where humans and AI collaborate to accelerate performance.
“These tools help us be more effective by delegating tasks that usually consume 60% to 65% of my time but may only generate 5% of revenue,” Sariol said, pointing to productivity gains when AI is embedded across operations.
He emphasized that AI should not simply be layered onto outdated processes but used to redesign workflows. That approach, he said, allows digital agents to track performance, anticipate trends and generate solutions in real time.
“It’s not about putting artificial intelligence on top of the processes we already have, but about reinventing ourselves,” Sariol said.
The message underscored that while AI can automate and scale, human creativity remains essential. The speaker said the role of business leaders is to harness AI as a partner to drive innovation, economic growth and better customer outcomes.
The conference also featured the PIVET success story, developed with Microsoft technology for “Parques Imaginarios.” The project showed how AI can create tangible impact in education by promoting reading and learning in childhood.
Other sessions examined the reinvention of the digital professional and included a panel on “Challenges and Opportunities in Sales Management,” which explored the new role of sales in an automated, data-driven environment.

C2S officials said the meeting underscored Puerto Rico’s role in regional discussions on artificial intelligence and innovation.
