Puerto Rico Restaurant Week returns June 1-11
Puerto Rico Restaurant Week will set the stage for local restaurants to showcase their lunch and dinner menus for a fixed price.
The 5th edition of “Puerto Rico Restaurant Week” will take place June 1-11, when premier restaurants will offer specially designed three course dinner and/or lunch menus at a fixed price.
These “prix fixe” menus are the cornerstone of the event, that seeks to get foodies to try new establishments and revisit old favorites, enticed by affordable multiple course menus. The menu is set at either $28 or $38 for dinner and $20 for lunch, excluding beverages, tax, and tip. There are no tickets for the event, but reservations are required and must be booked directly with participating restaurants, event organizers and co-founders Gustavo Antonetti and Paulina Salach said.
For this edition, Antonetti and Salach are encouraging chefs to place an emphasis on inventiveness and as always, to source locally.
“Each year, we are reaching new customers, engaging with foodies, and pushing the envelope in terms of creativity. Our chefs have developed a friendly competition amongst themselves and the beneficiaries have been the patrons,” said Antonetti.
“We strongly believe in sustainability and encourage restaurants to create as many dishes as they can using local ingredients,” said Salach. “Throughout the last few years we’ve seen restaurants working increasingly with local farmers. We want to support and promote those relationships.”
