Puerto Rico’s Destilería Serrallés gets top exporter honor

For the past six years, Destilería Serrallés has experienced consistent growth, achieving nationwide distribution of its flagship product, Don Q, in the United States, and breaking into international markets including the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Mexico and Panama. This growth has led the Puerto Rican company to exceed sales of 300,000 exported cases per year.
For those reasons, the Puerto Rico Products Association bestowed its “Exporter of the Year” award to Destilería Serrallés during its annual convention this past weekend.
“At Destilería Serrallés, we’re deeply honored to receive the ‘Exporter of the Year’ award. This recognition highlights our passion for excellence, the same passion with which we have been making the finest rums from Puerto Rico for almost 150 years,” said Robert J . Serrallés, vice president of the company.
“We’re honored with this distinction, and it encourages us to continue reaching aggressive goals internationally, and to deliver the Puerto Rico name around the world through our high quality rums,” said Serrallés.
Destilería Serrallés has been in business for more than 145 years, making its premium rums in Ponce. The company also owns the Ponce Hilton & Golf Resort.
“We congratulate Destilería Serrallés for this award. Its vision of the future should be an example to follow by other companies whose products and services have export potential, for the benefit of Puerto Rico’s economic development,” PRPA President Manuel Cidre said.
