QDOBA invests $2.5M to open 1st Ponce restaurant, adding 45 jobs
QDOBA Mexican Eats has expanded its footprint in Puerto Rico with a $2.5 million investment to open its first restaurant in the southern region, bringing the fast-casual chain to Ponce as part of a broader growth plan.
The new restaurant creates 45 direct and indirect jobs and marks another step in the expansion of Q Puerto Rico Franchise LLC, the local operator of the brand.
The Ponce site, located at Galería Pacífico on PR-14, covers about 3,500 square feet and offers dine-in service, a drive-thru lane and curbside pickup.
Executives said the restaurant’s format reflects rising demand for quick service while keeping the brand’s focus on fresh ingredients and customizable meals.
QDOBA entered the Puerto Rico market in 2022 and now runs restaurants in Caguas, Guaynabo and Bayamón. Company officials said local demand has outpaced initial projections, prompting the move into new regions.
“This new opening is an opportunity to continue strengthening our connection with the communities of Puerto Rico and promote economic activity in the regions we serve,” said Luis Miguel Jové, CEO of Q Puerto Rico Franchise.
“Ponce represents a significant step for the QDOBA brand. We want every diner to experience a meal full of flavor, freshness and culinary innovation,” he said.
The menu at the Ponce restaurant includes bowls, burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads, nachos and other core offerings. Customers can customize meals with seasoned proteins, house-made sauces, vegetables, three-cheese queso and fresh guacamole prepared daily. The company said it continues to incorporate local products when available and to serve food free of MSG, artificial colors and additives.
Customers can place digital orders through QDOBA.com or the company’s mobile app, which offers promotions and a loyalty rewards program.
