The Municipality of San Juan has approved several new decrees aimed at accelerating economic development, supporting local entrepreneurs and attracting private investment in the capital city.

The announcement was made by Mayor Miguel A. Romero during a signing ceremony at the Business Concierge office in Plaza Las Américas.

“Since we began this administration, we’ve been clear that supporting entrepreneurs and facilitating their development is a priority for reactivating our economy,” said Romero. “These decrees represent a concrete example of what we can achieve when there is will, planning and action.”

Among the companies benefiting from the incentives are Spotin LLC, a tourist tour operator in Río Piedras; Servicios a Tiempo, a business consulting firm also in Río Piedras; Molecula, a beauty salon in the Mall of San Juan; Loyalty Motors, a car rental service in Santurce; JS&JS2035, specializing in short-term rentals; and Business Innovation Group, a company dedicated to the sale of signage materials and machinery.

Daphne Barbeito, director of the Department of Economic Development and Tourism, emphasized the importance of facilitating entrepreneurship across both traditional and emerging industries.

“These decrees are a powerful tool to support that growth,” she said. “We continue working every day to attract investment, but also to facilitate the path for those who have already decided to invest in San Juan.”

According to the municipality, the cumulative result of these and other initiatives is nearly $98 million in private investment and the creation of 1,827 new jobs through May.

“We’re proud of the work we are doing and thank every businessman and businesswoman who places their trust in San Juan,” Romero added. “We will continue to facilitate the necessary conditions for more projects to become a reality.”
