The U.S. Small Business Administration, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Puerto Rico Small Business & Technology Development Center will host a Government Procurement Forum on April 30 starting at 8 a.m., to help facilitate business development opportunities for small firms seeking contracts with federal and local government agencies.

The second in a three-part series aimed at educating and supporting Puerto Rico’s small business community, this forum will provide local companies with the chance to receive first-hand information on procurement resources available on the island and allow them to meet individually with federal and local government officials in attendance, including representatives from SBA, FRBNY, FDIC and the Puerto Rico Federal Contracting Center.

In addition, forum participants will hear from local entrepreneurs who have been successful in securing contracts with the federal government, and will learn all about special programs for women and minority, and federal government certifications –such as those offered under the 8(a) Business Development and Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Zone programs.

The event will take place at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico’s metro campus’ multi-use conference room.
