Kelly Services is celebrating its 50th anniversary in Puerto Rico, where it has placed thousands of individuals in temporary and permanent positions and made a significant financial contribution to the island’s economy since September 1964.

To mark the milestone, high-ranking company officials were in town Wednesday to discuss the company’s “strong partnership” with the people and businesses of Puerto Rico.

“As businesses struggle to gain access to shrinking pools of talent, they have to learn how to work with talent today,” said George Corona, executive vice president of Kelly Services.

“Kelly is committed to the local economy and will continue to provide well-designed workforce solutions that take into account the needs of today’s talent and the demands of our clients,” said the also COO.

Kelly Services opened its first office in Puerto Rico in September 1964 in San Juan. Over the years, Kelly has diversified its services to cover a comprehensive array of outsourcing and consulting services including recruitment, human resource management, vendor management, and contingent workforce outsourcing on a global basis.

Additionally, Kelly provides staffing on a temporary, temp-to-hire and permanent placement basis. Kelly employees can be found working in traditional office positions as well as in finance, healthcare, engineering, law, accounting, information technology, science, marketing, and light industrial.

In Puerto Rico today, Kelly has operations throughout the island and places more than 5,000 employees weekly. Since 1999 the company has steadily expanded its business by launching the financial, IT, engineering and scientific staffing divisions within the local operation.
