Sprint launches 4G LTE in southern Puerto Rico

Wireless carrier Sprint announced Tuesday that it is delivering the speed, power and value of its all-new 4G LTE network to customers in six new areas in the U.S. mainland and Puerto Rico, where residents and users in Ponce, Coamo and Guayama will begin benefiting from faster speeds.
The additional regions join Yauco and Santa Isabel, as well as a handful of other towns where the carrier launched the next-generation service earlier this year.
“Just in time for the holidays, we are bringing 4G LTE to even more Sprint customers,” said Bob Azzi, senior vice president-Network, Sprint. “We strive to deliver a top-notch network experience, and customers in these newly launched areas will see 4G LTE service get better and better in the weeks and months ahead to reach even more places where they live, work and play. Customers should find Sprint 4G LTE consistent, reliable and fast.”
Sprint began rolling out its 4G LTE network in July 2012 and now offers service in 49 markets. Puerto Rico was included in the latest round of jurisdictions where Sprint flipped the switch on its new network Tuesday, which also included areas in Indiana, California, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
