The Puerto Rico Statistics Institute has begun the registration period for the second half of its workshops cycle, which are offered each semester to offer the theoretical and practical foundations for statistics-related topics.

The curriculum for these courses considers that statistical analysis is not an isolated process, as it is tightly bound to other activities such as, for example, sample design and procedures for data entry. Hence, the courses cover from basic to more specialized or advanced topics, to address the daily challenges associated with managing data faced by public and private organizations.

The workshops are aimed primarily at government professionals working in statistical functions, but are also available to individuals and professionals in nonprofit institutions and the private sector. While public sector employees may sign up for free, private sector and nonprofit employees are charged a small registration fee, the agency said.

“We trust this new curriculum that has been prepared will be of great benefit to the participants. We invite those who have not yet registered to do so as soon as possible, as there are few spaces remaining and courses have limited capacity,” said Statistics Institute Executive Director Mario Marazzi-Santiago.
