Subway opens 8 local shops featuring ‘Metro Décor’
Eight local Subway restaurants got a make-over recently.
Following a $200,000 investment, the Subway restaurant chain recently opened eight stores in Puerto Rico under the new “Metro décor” prototype, whose goal is to provide a nicer ambiance for customers while responding to public preferences and current industry trends, company officials said Tuesday.
The remodeled stores are located in Río Grande, Walmart Guayama, Ponce, Fajardo (2), Bayamón (2), and Roosevelt Ave in San Juan, and feature modern interiors, wi-fi and drive-up windows.
The focal point of the new setting is a stone wall which displays the iconic Subway logo in metal. Furthermore, the landscape of the city that is always present in the decoration of all stores is now engraved on a piece of glass that adorns one wall.
“With the opening of this new restaurant, in addition to celebrating that the Subway chain continues its expansion in Puerto Rico thanks to the support of the public, we are inaugurating the ‘Metro Décor’ atmosphere so that our customers can enjoy the variety of fresh foods we offer, in a contemporary, tasteful and, above all, welcoming setting,” said Lyle Swanson, president of Subway Island Development, the developer in charge of running the chain in Puerto Rico.
Subway has 224 local restaurants.
