T-Mobile, Claro y Liberty dominan la conectividad en Puerto Rico en el primer semestre de 2025.

T-Mobile, Claro and Liberty emerged as Puerto Rico’s leading connectivity providers during the first half of 2025, according to Ookla’s Speedtest Connectivity Report covering January through June.

The results were based on millions of consumer-initiated tests and quality-of-experience metrics that measure how users engage with networks daily.

“T-Mobile had the best overall mobile network and the best 5G network among providers in Puerto Rico during the first half of 2025,” the report said.

The carrier posted a median download speed of 179.03 Mbps across all technologies and a median 5G download speed of 206.35 Mbps. It also led in mobile video streaming and 5G gaming performance.

Claro was recognized in the fixed-line category. Ookla noted it “had the best fixed-line network in Puerto Rico during the first half of 2025 and was the fastest internet service provider (ISP) in the market.” Claro’s average download speed was 125.13 Mbps, with an upload speed of 110.13 Mbps. The company was also cited for “the best gaming experience on the market.”

Liberty ranked highest for consumer video use. “Liberty offered the best ISP video streaming experience in Puerto Rico during the first half of 2025, with a video streaming score of 76.72 out of 100,” according to the report.

Ookla compared performance across major municipalities. Cataño recorded the fastest median mobile download speed at 167.45 Mbps. Trujillo Alto posted the fastest fixed download speed at 166.64 Mbps.

The report emphasized that its findings reflect both technical testing and real-world assessments. “To show a full picture of network performance in each market, our reports are informed by millions of daily consumer-initiated tests taken on Speedtest, along with quality of experience metrics that offer insight into the daily connected activities that matter most to end users,” Ookla said.
