Teselta donates $10K to Mech-Tech College as part of alliance

The company also gifted John Deere machinery, worth $70,000, to help diesel mechanic students at Mech-Tech College improve their skills.

As part of its dedication to corporate social responsibility, industrial equipment provider Teselta has strengthened its collaborative alliance with Mech-Tech College to recruit the institution’s graduates who specialize in advanced and technical education.

This year, Teselta reaffirmed the alliance by donating $10,000 for scholarships to students in diesel mechanics and electromechanics at Mech-Tech’s campuses on the island. The company also provided a piece of John Deere equipment worth $70,000 to assist with the practical training of diesel mechanic students.

“We began this alliance 14 years ago, with the commitment to recruit Mech-Tech graduates to join the Teselta team, contributing to the creation of jobs and the growth of our industrial and commercial operations with highly trained professionals and technicians,” said José Baeza, CEO of Teselta.

“With the celebration of our 60th anniversary, we expand our commitment to the education and training of young people in technical disciplines that are much needed to support Puerto Rico’s economic development,” he added.

Mech-Tech College, established in 1984, has five campuses in Puerto Rico and one stateside in Florida. The college’s goal is to equip young people and adults with the necessary skills to maintain or compete for emerging job opportunities.

Teselta has established itself as a key player in various sectors, including construction, agriculture, aviation, power generation and infrastructure. With a leading presence in the heavy equipment industry, the company’s expansion in the Caribbean and Latin America continues to advance, broadening its array of products and services.

“We thank Teselta for its commitment to technical education, which allows us to offer tools and strengthen technical skills that will be very useful for our graduates when they successfully enter the workforce,” said Sarah Méndez, operations manager of Mech-Tech College.

“Teselta’s support and scholarship donation allows us to extend our educational mission and commitment to provide our student community with excellent training and professional development,” she added.
