The Treasury Department’s new website will be constantly under review for updates.

The Puerto Rico Treasury Department unveiled Thursday its redesigned sitio web, to among other things, promote “greater transparency and easier access to information and services,” agency Secretary Melba Acosta said.

“We’re pleased that this new website has a modern approach, and offers easy navigation, new features and the agency’s necessary and most important content,” she said. “For the first time, the design meets the requirements of portability, something very important in these times, to allow access to the page from any electronic device.”

The new site offers agency information organized by subject and divided by type of user; for example, individuals, traders, specialists and investors, so that each group can find information and perform automated processes, she noted.

“It’s a fact that the website is visited constantly and the user profile is varied. So we wanted to improve the search experience to temper it to the needs of each group,” she said. “One of the novel aspects is that people can subscribe to receive email updates that Treasury makes on the page according to the selected topic.”

The agency will post administrative decisions, informative notices and other announcements on the site, that has now consolidated online services with the virtual payment system to make it easier to complete transactions. The page also now containes a tax calendar establishing deadlines for the different returns required from taxpayers.

The page’s content will be “continuously revised and changed to contain relevant information for taxpayers,” she noted.
