TripAdvisor picks San Juan as top Caribbean travel spot
The Travelers’ Choice Destinations awards honors travel spots worldwide based on millions of reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers.
The Puerto Rico Tourism Company announced that the city of San Juan has received a Top Destinations Caribbean as part of the 2013 Travelers’ Choice Destinations award given by prestigious travelers site TripAdvisor. The category lists the 10 top destinations in the Caribbean.
“This award represents excellent news for us, especially when we have been working intensely to highlight the many attributes and benefits that Puerto Rico offers as a world-class tourist destination,” said Tourism Co. Executive Director Ingrid Rivera-Rocafort.
“We are greatly satisfied about this recognition since this year, less than one percent of all destinations listed on TripAdvisor received the Travelers’ Choice Destinations award,” she said.
“This fact emphasizes even more the strong positioning that our capital city, San Juan, and our Island as well, have among millions of tourists worldwide. It also encourages us to keep working hard on our mission to maximize our potential as an industry and continue to collaborate to Puerto Rico’s economic growth,” Rivera added.
The Travelers’ Choice Destinations awards honors travel spots worldwide based on millions of reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers. Award winners are determined based on the popularity of destinations, taking into account traveler’s favorites and most highly rated places.
The awards recognize wonderful destinations in markets all around the world. Award winners can use a special Travelers’ Choice Destinations badge on their websites, to let site visitors know how much travelers love that particular destination.
