Triple-S Salud unveiled Tuesday “More than 50 ways to live better,” an initiative that targets the “Baby Boomer” generation to help them live well during their retirement years.

“Our company has identified the need to give special attention to the 50+ population and share with them relevant information that will help them achieve a healthy retirement,” said Socorro Rivas, president of Triple-S Salud, which founded in 1959, is also a boomer.

This generation, Rivas said, is a segment of the population experiencing a significant growth, yet it is “falling by the wayside.”

“According to AARP, there are approximately 738,000 baby boomers in Puerto Rico. However, the growth rate points that by 2050, half of the island’s population will be older than 50. These statistics highlight the need to take notice of this group,” she said. “We have realized that from the moment that people reach the age of 50, they disappear from the market and few organizations take notice of their needs.”

For the campaign, Triple-S has hired retired financial consultant Myrna Pérez, who will share her expertise on Social Security and pre-retirement issues through personal presentations, as well as on radio and TV, starting Mar. 27.

The company will also share tips that will appear in newspapers on a weekly basis.
