TuPlantaPR and Arecibo Home Design have opened a joint showroom at Plaza Las Américas, creating what the companies describe as the first retail space in Puerto Rico to combine home décor with renewable energy solutions under one roof.

The new location on the mall’s second level integrates furnishings, accessories and solar-backup technologies in full-scale room settings intended to help customers visualize how interior design and energy resilience can function together.

The companies said the concept responds to a growing expectation among consumers that modern homes in Puerto Rico should balance aesthetics with reliability.

Visitors can walk through living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms staged with Arecibo Home Design furniture while viewing TuPlantaPR’s solar batteries and backup systems operating in real time.

“We wanted to create a space where people can address their needs through a complete experience, from the elegance of design to the peace of mind that comes with having secure energy, all in one place,” said Rolando Román, president of TuPlantaPR.

“In Puerto Rico, the conversation about the home is no longer just about which sofa or which kitchen we want, but about how prepared we are for blackouts, hurricanes and everyday life,” he said.

The space is also meant to help customers make informed decisions during remodeling or construction projects. The companies describe the showroom as a “living laboratory,” where consumers, designers, contractors and developers can interact with products and understand how energy systems fit into residential environments.

“Our customers are no longer looking for just furniture, they’re looking for a lifestyle,” said Elvin Hernández, sales manager at TuPlantaPR. “Here, they can imagine their home as a whole, from how the space looks to how the lighting feels, and see how TuPlantaPR’s energy solution fits seamlessly into the scene.”

The showroom opened Nov. 1 in front of Macy’s, and the companies expanded the concept to Toa Baja on Nov. 8. Both locations are intended to serve as consultation spaces for residents interested in combining style, efficiency and energy independence.
