Just in time for the new semester, National University College recently inaugurated a $6 million expansion to its Río Grande campus, expanding its capacity there to 2,800 students, institution President Gloria Baquero said.

“We’ve spared no resources to provide our students better spaces, equipped with advanced technology, to enrich their learning experience,” she said.

The modern two-story building houses the revamped School of Nursing, the library, computer labs and tutoring rooms. It also has seven new nursing labs equipped with smart boards and interactive anatomical models to help students develop in managing patient care.

The Río Grande campus was designed as an intelligent building, automated in the use and management of electricity, thus maximizing efficiency. This, in harmony with the modern and socially responsible philosophy that has characterized the institution.

“We have adapted to changes demanded by the times and the needs of students. Today more than ever it is imperative that universities evolve before the challenge presented by the job market, responding with innovative resources, better spaces and an environment conducive to the proper practice of teaching and learning,” said Rafael Navarro, dean of the Río Grande campus.
