EVERTEC unveils updated mobile payment solution

Electronic transaction processing firm EVERTEC announced Wednesday the availability of the new version of its mobile payment solution, EVERPay mPOS.
This solution that turns smartphones with iOS or Android operating systems into a point of sales, now has significant improvements and offers greater flexibility to merchants to accept payments from their customers safely, no matter where they are, said Mike Vizcarrondo, EVERTEC’s executive vice president of payment services.
“We’ve strengthened our payment solution and we are confident about the benefits that EVERPay mPOS will provide the island’s commercial sector,” he said. “Three years ago we revolutionized the Puerto Rico market with the only mobile solution that allowed processing ATM debit card payments, in addition to accepting and processing payments from major credit cards.”
Now, EVERTEC has added the latest technology to also process cards with chip technology, installment payments and a dashboard with reports and statistics. It also processes the government’s e-benefits card (“Tarjeta de la Familia”), cash and ACH transactions.
“Now merchants can have the most comprehensive mobile payment solution in Puerto Rico,” Vizcarrondo said, if the solution that consists of an application and a device that connects via Bluetooth to offer small and medium businesses, and non-traditional industries, an easy and cost effective payment processing solution.
