Microsoft Corp. has recognized local firm Fusionworks for its performance in the Latin America and Caribbean region, where won in the software provider’s Customer Relationship Management category, beating out 46 countries and territories in 34 categories evaluated, the company announced.

Currently, Latin America is one of the fastest growing markets for Microsoft. This region has tripled its sales to exceed 1 billion annually, according to Microsoft.

Fusionworks will be honored during Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference, which this year will take place in Washington, D.C. July 13-18. This recognition is bestowed annually to members who have excelled worldwide in developing and delivering Microsoft-based technology solutions.

“These awards are the result of team-based hard work which has yielded concrete results for our clients and how we provide solutions and do business,” said Jorge Mejía, Fusionwork’s director, who is also treasurer of the Puerto Rico IT Cluster.

Fusionworks successfully implemented this project for its client, Grupo HIMA San Pablo. The program represents a flexible enterprise solution for managing relationships with patients in the group, particularly within its Medical Tourism program. The implementation of CRM helped the client to centrally maintain and access the patient data. Now they can better manage the number of patients and provide the best quality of service by ensuring that all needs are met from health care to transportation and lodging.
