The newly formed partnership is expected to improve patient care at the Pavía hospitals.

MMM Holdings, LLC and Metro-Pavía Health System announced a partnership Wednesday intended to optimize the services received by MMM and PMC members. This partnership integrates services through better intra-hospital care, improved and coordinated clinical supervision, connectivity through technology and better communication.

Its objective is to ensure that the information of patients flows correctly and swiftly among their health professionals to guarantee the continuity of care, hospital officials said.

“We are excited to be able to bring forth partnerships like this one in Puerto Rico. The reality is that local and federal regulatory agencies are increasingly demanding that we all improve health services in a cost-effective way and particularly by making better use of technology,” said Richard Shinto, CEO of MMM Holdings, LLC.

“The more we promote collaboration and join forces, the better we can serve patients, ensure adequate treatments and better use of the medical resources we have in our community,” he said. “In essence, this partnership allows us to maximize the quality standards of both companies.”

This partnership seeks to achieve an integrated care of the highest quality, helping Medicare beneficiaries receive the healthcare they deserve while meeting the standards of quality required by both companies.

For her part, Karen Artau, president of Metro Pavía Health System said, “We feel very satisfied because we are combining the experience of both organizations to improve the health and quality of the life of the patients we care for.”

Through this partnership, MMM and PMC members will also get value-added services in affected hospitals, such as: free newspapers or magazines in bedrooms, free television the second day of a hospital stay, a 25-percent discount in rates for private rooms, as well as constant support on behalf of the Department for Patient Services. Among these benefits, patients’ caregivers are also taken into consideration and will be offered one snack per day.

“It is important for Metro Pavía Health System that our patients feel well cared for even when their health is at a delicate state,” Artau said

Currently, MMM and PMC also have partnerships with other hospitals like the Doctor’s Center Hospital, Hermanos Meléndez Hospital and Caribbean Medical Center.
