True to season of giving, and as part of the brand’s #InAHyattWorld campaign, the Hyatt Place San Juan City Center announced that the recipient of the 2016 Hyatt Community Grant, worth $15,000, is the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico Inc.

“We’re proud to present this grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, whose work with the island’s youth and young adults over the past 45 years has been crucial in the social development of productive and upstanding citizens.” said Hyatt’s Laura Soto-Reyes.

“The Hyatt Community Grant Program — a nationwide corporate initiative — empowers Hyatt Place San Juan City Center and other branded properties to act as local philanthropists,” she said.

“The program bring teams of colleagues together to support the prosperity and well-being of our community,” Soto-Reyes added.

Hyatt Place San Juan City Center has created a successful partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico through which Hyatt employees offer lectures about hotel management to the mothers in the Hotel Management Course and currently employs a group of the first graduates. The mothers have kept their jobs for months after finishing the training, including a mother who was promoted to a supervisory role.

The Hyatt Community Grant will be used to support the Hospitality Management Course, including leadership, training materials and training activities.
