Sam’s Club launches business coaching program
Sam’s Club Puerto Rico announced Tuesday that, as part of its ongoing commitment to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the island, it will offer a business coaching program to a group of its business members to help strengthen and grow local small- and medium-sized businesses.
Through this program, called “Sam’s Club Activates Your Business,” selected business members will have the opportunity to transform their companies and their lives by participating in working sessions where they will learn entrepreneurial concepts that will enable them to achieve the full potential of their businesses, and to establish a better balance between work and personal life.
“Helping our business members who are small-business owners learn key concepts for successfully managing their business is the goal of ‘Sam’s Club Activates Your Business’,” said Olga Ramos, senior director of Sam’s Club Puerto Rico.
“Since we opened our first store on the island, we have worked to boost the Puerto Rican economy by supporting small- and medium-sized businesses through different approaches, including selling their products in our stores. Sam’s Club Activates Your Business program reaffirms our commitment to the socioeconomic development of Puerto Rico,” she added.
The “Sam’s Club Activates Your Business” program — which is being offered in partnership with The Growth Coach, a business coaching and sales company — also includes a blog of the same name through which key topics, recommendations, participant profiles and summaries of the working sessions will be shared. In addition, it will include details of the short workshops that Sam’s Club will offer to its business members around the island as part of this program.
The methodology to be used in the “Sam’s Club Activates Your Business” is based on the concept of Strategic Mindset, a structured thinking and analysis and accountability process developed by The Growth Coach.
The first group of Sam’s Club business associates that will be participating in the workshops includes Lisa Blanco-Rosario, owner of Mona Lisa Pizza Art Beer in Río Piedras; Nelson A. González-Pacheco, owner of La Güira Restaurant & Lounge in Arecibo; Divad López-Rosado, owner of El Jardín Burger Bar & Grill in Comerío; Noralis Meléndez-Morales, owner of JNN Distributors in Naranjito; Rebecca Molina-Acevedo, owner of Food Design Catering Inc. in San Juan; Hiram Muñiz-Bernard, owner of Coffee Café in Quebradillas; Guillermo Rivera-Oliver, owner of Grillón Cash & Carry in Santurce; Milton Rivera-Acosta, owner of Cilantro Mexican Grill and Cantina in Canóvanas; Héctor E. Santiago-Maldonado, owner of El Flamboyán Dancing Hall in Toa Baja; and Griselle Vázquez-Rincón, owner of GHK Supermarket in Yabucoa.
“We are confident that this program will provide essential tools to Sam’s Club business members and will offer advice to small- and medium-sized merchants to enable the SME sector to grow and boost the local economy through increased economic activity,” said Ramos.
The “Sam’s Club Activates Your Business” program is part of Walmart Puerto Rico’s contribution to the development of small- and medium-sized businesses on the island.
