Liberty President Naji Khoury announces this year’s benefited nonprofits.

Liberty Puerto Rico recently made a $300,000 donation to 12 community organizations In Puerto Rico, gathered during its 19th annual Liberty Golf Invitational Tournament.

This year’s benefited organizations are: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico; Casa de Niños Manuel Fernández Juncos; Centro Espibi in Mayagüez; Centros Sor Isolina Ferré; Hogar Santa Teresita del Niño Jesús in Arecibo; Niños de Nueva Esperanza in Toa Baja’s Sabana Seca sector; Para la Naturaleza; PR4PR; the Puerto Rico JazzFest Scholarship Fund; Puertorreal; the San Juan Children’s Choir; and, the Universidad del Turabo Scholarship Fund.

“This is the highest donation we have ever made in the history of this tournament. As a matter of fact, no other tournament on the island donates a higher amount,” said Naji Khoury, president of Liberty Puerto Rico.

“With the island’s current financial situation, these donations have become even more crucial for these organizations. Our alliance with our friends and partners has been key in enabling these groups to carry on with their important work,” he said.

The Liberty Golf Invitational Tournament is the company’s top community event. Liberty has been raising funds for community organizations in Puerto Rico since 1996, when its first edition raised approximately $19,000 for the Hogar San José in Luquillo. Since then, the tournament has raised more than $1.8 million for various community organizations throughout the island.
