The 525-room San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino is one of the Condado area’s most iconic and long-standing hotel properties.

The San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino is showing off the results of a nearly four-year, $15 million renovation project of the iconic Condado-area hotel, which included its 525-room and suites, two restaurants, its casino, meeting rooms and pool area.

By the end of the month, the property is expected to inaugurate a new ice cream shop, Gelato & Co., and by year’s end, it will add two new one-room suites, to boost the number of such rooms to 15, said José Joaquín Cruz, marketing manager for the hotel.

“In the past two years, we completed all of our rooms to give them a more contemporary look. We’ve also worked on the pool and other areas,” said Cruz, adding that still pending is the completion of a new double-helix water slide that should be ready in coming weeks.

The hotel’s trendy Red Coral Lounge bar remains at the heart of the lobby area, which has also been redone to include semi-private sitting areas for hotel guests. The décor features wood finishes combined with natural colors, a variety of textures and metallic touches. The lobby area showcases a number of art pieces by Puerto Rican painter Carmelo Sobrino, and sculptors Luis Torruella and Neftalí Maldonado.

Meanwhile, two of the hotel’s restaurants, La Vista Latin Grill and La Isla Beach Bar & Grill also underwent makeovers to reflect more modern and refined elements. La Vista Latin Grill, which has a capacity for 100 guests, now has new breakfast, lunch and dinner menus inspired on the “Nuevo Latino” food experience.

The San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino hosts more than 14,283 square-feet of space for events spread across 13 rooms and the American International Grand Ballroom, all of which have been redone with new neutral-toned carpets, better illumination, partitions and wall colors.
