McDonald’s, Ana G. Méndez join to offer MCampus Comunidad program

Arcos Dorados, the company that operates McDonald’s restaurants in Puerto Rico and 19 Latin American countries, recently participated in the Open House held by Ana G. Méndez University in Carolina to share the impact of its online educational platform, MCampus Comunidad, with hundreds of new university students.

The 26 courses available on the platform have certification from Hamburger University, McDonald’s global corporate university.

MCampus Comunidad is designed to encourage continuing education and personal and professional development by offering a variety of online workshops designed by experts in different fields.

These courses, grouped into skills for professional and personal development and technology and innovation, seek to address topics highly in demand by employers with the aim of providing tools and knowledge that facilitate the job placement of users who take them.

In addition to courses such as digital marketing, entrepreneurship and personal finance, some are added such as vocational guidance, customer service and computer programming fundamentals, developed with allies such as Cisco, PDA HRtech and Ciatech UOL EdTech.

Vincent Lamazou, managing director of Arcos Dorados Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands, explained that the program is born from one of the main training and development tools offered to all company employees and seeks to address one of the primary social needs: bridging the educational and employment opportunity gap.

“As one of the largest generators of first jobs in the region, we firmly believe in offering additional tools and resources for the development of talent in the communities where we operate,” said Lamazou. “We’re proud to be able to provide resources such as MCampus Comunidad, which has proven to be an enriching tool for all those who want to expand their potential.”

Since its launch, MCampus Comunidad has garnered more than 100,000 registered users, delivering more than 2 million hours of free learning across Latin America and the Caribbean.

In Puerto Rico, several thousand users have completed more than 2,300 courses.

“The scope and continued growth of this platform reflects Arcos Dorados’ objective of offering training and development opportunities as part of its commitment to labor inclusion,” the company stated.

MCampus Comunidad courses are accessible for free online, allowing anyone interested to register and begin learning virtually.
