Oriental offers new service to fill personal loans online

Debbie Sabater, senior vice president of Strategy for Individual Banking.

Oriental bank announced Monday the availability of a new channel to apply for personal loans, through www.orientalbank.com.

“At Oriental we continue to invest in technology to offer our customers the accessibility and convenience they demand and deserve,” said Fernando Herrera, vice president and credit director for individuals.

“With this new channel they may request a personal loan through any digital device because the design responds to the screen size,” he said.

In addition to a simple application, the client may complete the process digitally accessing the new site to upload the requested documents and other files — from a personal computer or photos on their mobile device — and get a decision.

When the loan is approved, the customer will receive an appointment at the branch of their choice to go to sign for the loan. The appointment will be made using the service Oriental launched earlier this year allowing making appointments in branches through the web. This way, the customer can go to the branch and not have to wait for a turn.

“We have identified ways to streamline this process, making it completely done online, from application to approval and appointment, to signing the documents and picking up the disbursement,” said Debbie Sabater, senior vice president of Strategy for Individual Banking.

“Innovation comes from merging different technologies with improved processes to offer our customers a truly enjoyable experience,” she said.

The executive also said they continue to work on maximizing the digital channel to strengthen the online offering of other credit products.

“We have been able to leverage the relationship with our technology partners to maximize investment in systems so our customers are those who benefit from greater accessibility and convenience,” she said.
