The first Pasarell Cup golf tournament was held recently at the Golf Links at the Royal Isabela resort, a three-day event during which brothers and event captains Charlie and Stanley Pasarell faced off with their respective teams in Isabela.

Charlie’s Team won 13-11 over Stanley’s Team, during an event that followed the Ryder Cup format — two, 12-person teams compete in six best-ball, six alternate-shot (scotch) and 12 singles matches.

“I wish to congratulate my team for winning this Inaugural Pasarell Cup and thank all the golfers who played in the tournament at the Golf Links at Royal Isabela. The course and the climate were perfect and the participant’s sportsmanship made it a first class event,” said Charlie Pasarell, a former tennis champion who will be inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame in July.

For his part, Stanley Pasarell added “my brother Charlie and I dedicated the Pasarell Cup to our father, Charles Pasarell Sr., who nurtured our love for sports and fair competition. We are very proud of his legacy and wish to share it with our club members and Royal Isabela’s guests.”

The spectacular Royal Isabela property is located on 426 acres with cliffs that soar between 150 to 350 feet above the sea with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. For the guests staying at Las Casitas, equipped with a private plunge pool and luxurious amenities, Royal Isabel offers a peaceful escape unequalled in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Trip Advisor, the influential hospitality website where properties are rated by users, has rated Royal Isabela as the top hotel in Isabela.
