Popular Inc. announced Tuesday a new institutional campaign offering clients who use its Mi Banco services the chance to promote their businesses or entities for free through several outlets, bank officials said.

The $1.5 million effort turns the bank into the first local company to offer advertising support to clients, through an effort that will last through the end of the year, said Mariel Arraiza, first vice president of marketing and business intelligence for Banco Popular.

The campaign seeks to give continuity to the “Echar Pa’lante” campaign the bank launched three years ago.

“With this effort, we offer our customers a wide advertising platform so they can publicize their business, their cause or any ideas they want to share while we encourage the economic and social development of Puerto Ricans,” she said, adding that since the bank convoked applicants on April 2, they have received more than 500 requests to participate in the campaign that will run on TV, radio, print and social networks starting April 16.
