SBA, AARP Puerto Rico to host 4th ‘Mentor Day’ event

SBA AARP logoAs part of Mentor Month, the Puerto Rico office of the U.S. Small Business Administration and AARP Puerto Rico will conduct their fourth Mentor Day event today.

The event is aimed at matching potential entrepreneurs over the age of 50 with business counselors and mentors.

SBA and AARP entered into a strategic alliance in May 2012 to provide individuals over the age of 50 with real-world actionable information they need to start and grow small businesses.

The event will include speed mentoring, allowing business counselors mentors and entrepreneurs to share information for 10 minute sessions.

The event also will help connect encore entrepreneurs with certified business counselors from the Puerto Rico Small Business & Technology Development Center, the Women’s Business Institute and the Puerto Rico SCORE chapter, who can help throughout the life of an entrepreneur’s business.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the SBA’s Puerto Rico office located on 273 Ponce de León Ave. in Hato Rey.
