The Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association will be hosting a forum to discuss business opportunities in Cuba on Aug. 2, in anticipation of an educational mission to the Caribbean island nation, trade group President Waleska Rivera announced.

The “Cuba: Its Situation today and Opportunities for Tomorrow” seminar will consist of a series of back-to-back panels led by experts who will share their perspectives on doing business with Cuba and its implications for Puerto Rico.

“For more than 10 years, the PRMA has conducted all types of actions to break into new markets for the benefit of our partners and Puerto Rico,” Rivera said. “Cuba represents a huge potential, which is why it must be studied and understood by our business community.”

The schedule will run from 8 a.m. a 6 p.m. at the Conrad Condado Plaza in San Juan. The agenda includes a discussion on “Economic reform and changes to the Cuban economic policy in 2013,” “Cuba’s economy and its implications for Puerto Rico,” “Doing business in Cuba,” and the “Pro’s and Con’s of doing Business in Cuba today and tomorrow.”

The event will wrap up with a presentation on the educational mission to Cuba the PRMA is planning for Sept. 22-29.
