Redesigned Mazda3 hits Puerto Rico roads

The ompletely redesigned 2014 Mazda3 has arrived in Puerto Rico to “revolutionize the compact car segment,” Mazda de Puerto Rico General Manager Carmen Cedré said Wednesday.
“With more than 3.5 million vehicles sold globally, the Mazda3 is the Japanese brand’s best-selling and most recognizable model. Its redesign for 2014 shows great attention to details and care, that will surpass the market’s expectations,” said Cedré, who added that the all-new Mazda3 has been named a finalist for the 2014 North American Car of the Year Award.
The 2014 Mazda3 is engineered with the brand’s exclusive SKYACTIV technology, which guarantee fuel-efficiency up to 40 miles per gallon, and an aerodynamic performance that eases the interaction between the driver and the vehicle for a unique driving experience.
The vehicle was inspired in the brand’s KODO design language, which means “Soul of Motion,” and is based in three driving principles: speed, motion and alluring. This philosophy translates into a stylish and modern vehicle that catches everyone’s immediate attention.
The interior of all-new Mazda3 features a driver-oriented cockpit and a 7-inch touchscreen “Active Driving Display” that provides the driver with the necessary vehicle navigation information while keeping their attention focused on the road, while connecting their smartphone, email, SMS and social networks safely via Bluetooth technology and voice commands.
The 2014 model also comes equipped with i-ACTIVESENSE technologies, a safety feature with sensing devices such as radars and cameras to support the driver in recognizing hazards, avoiding collisions and minimizing damage, should accidents occur.
Other Mazda3 safety features include six airbags (front, side and full side-curtain), whiplash-reducing front headrests, power-assisted ventilated front and solid rear disc brakes, anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist, and three-point safety belts for all seating positions, among others.
Mazda3 is available in eight colors and two models: a 5-door hatchback and a 4-door sports sedan.
