Study shows strong return on investment in Vimenti

Participants toured the construction progress of Oasis 360, the 80,000-square-foot complex that will house Vimenti’s future facilities along with the Social Impact Platform, the Youth Development Institute, Project Makers and the Vidalús health clinic.

Vimenti marked its fifth awareness and fundraising breakfast by presenting new findings that quantify the center’s economic and social impact on Puerto Rico’s families.

The study, “Vimenti: Seven Years of Social and Economic Impact,” conducted by Advantage Business Consulting, concludes that “for every dollar invested in Vimenti, a return of $3.41 in social and economic value is obtained.”

The results were unveiled during the event, “Take Action: Be a Force of Change for Our Children and Families.”

Held at The Mall of San Juan, the breakfast brought together leaders from the private and philanthropic sectors to review progress under the Two Generations, or 2Gen, model through which Vimenti provides integrated services to children and adults. Students from Vimenti School performed a new song, “Take Action,” written for the occasion.

The analysis, presented by Advantage Business Consulting representatives Melissa Armas and Charna Boquette, highlights measurable improvements associated with the organization’s approach.

The findings show a 12% reduction in poverty among participating families, 62% of households with at least one parent employed full time and 73% of parents reporting higher income. The study also reports that 80% of family goals have been achieved and that 73% of students demonstrate academic mastery.

Vimenti Executive Director Bárbara Rivera said the findings validate the organization’s long-term work to support systemic change.

“Betting on systemic change isn’t easy. We’ve overcome the challenges we’ve faced thanks to the people who believe in this project and the impact it can have on families in Puerto Rico,” she said. “Investing in families isn’t just a social cause; it’s a smart economic strategy.”

Attendees also received an update on Oasis 360, the 80,000-square-foot complex that will house Vimenti’s future facilities, along with the Social Impact Platform, the Youth Development Institute, Project Makers and the Vidalús health clinic next to The Mall of San Juan.
