European car dealership Euroclass Motors and Autos Vega, the island’s largest Ford Dealership, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Wednesday, News is my Business has learned.
Ford Motor Company is marking a decade of fueling environmentally friendly initiatives on the island through grants bestowed to individuals and organizations. This year, the automaker will distribute $40,000 for those initiatives, adding to the $400,000 it has distributed since 2001.
Automaker Ford reported an increase in sales of 39 percent during the first quarter of 2011 in Puerto Rico, ranking second behind Toyota Puerto Rico, with 2,329 new units sold during the three-month period, Waldo Galán, general director of Ford International Business Development for Puerto Rico said Thursday.
