OMB: Puerto Rico expenses under budget, down 6% YOY

Driven by a drop in payroll and the implementation of a fiscal improvement program at the Education Department, the Office of Management and Budget said Wednesday that Puerto Rico’s expenses so far this fiscal year are under budget and reflect a 6 percent year-over-year decline.

Agriculture Dept. assigns $5.8M to struggling farmers

In the midst of the worst drought the U.S. mainland has witnessed in more than 50 years, which has significantly increased food prices worldwide, the Agriculture Department has earmarked $3.7 million to help Puerto Rico farmers address higher feed and production costs, agency Secretary Neftalí Soto said Thursday.
