More than 70 volunteers in San Juan took part in the 10th annual Global Community Day, held by Citi, joining more than 75,000 participants in 487 cities spanning 93 countries and territories who engaged in service activities to benefit their local communities.

In the days leading up to and including Global Community Day, Citi colleagues, alumni, clients, family and friends worked side-by-side on more than 1,200 service projects ranging from urban revitalization to literacy and education, career readiness, environmental conservation and disaster relief.

Global Community Day offers a wide range of service opportunities that harness the enthusiasm and passion of our diverse employees, family and friends, and meet the pressing needs of our communities. Over the past ten years, volunteers have participated in more than 11,000 Global Community Day activities and contributed more than two million hours of service.

“Global Community Day is an opportunity to work actively as a team with our family and friends, reaffirming our commitment to support the progress and development of our communities”, said Guillermo Gómez, Citi Country officer in a release issued Thursday.
