$150K donation boosts Kinesis scholarships for Puerto Rico
The Kinesis Foundation received a $150,000 donation from The 20/22 Act Society during its Holiday Gathering, an event that brought together students, alumni, donors, and partners to celebrate the organization’s mission of expanding access to higher education in Puerto Rico.
The event, titled “A story that unites us: A night of hope and gratitude,” was held Dec. 17, 2025, at the Foundation’s Plaza and focused on recognizing the community that supports hundreds of students pursuing university degrees.
The contribution from The 20/22 Act Society will strengthen the sustainability of Kinesis’ educational programs and expand opportunities related to access, student retention, and university success.
“This extraordinary support represents much more than a financial contribution; it is a vote of confidence in the talent of our youth and in the transformative power of education,” said José A. Cruz, executive director of the Kinesis Foundation.
“Thanks to partners like The 20/22 Act Society, and to the continued support of all our donors, 2025 was a year of extraordinary impact for Kinesis Foundation,” he said.
Cruz said the organization currently supports more than 550 students from Puerto Rico and awarded $1 million in scholarships during the 2025–26 academic year. Seventy percent of the scholarship recipients come from low-income families.
“Our commitment is reaching those who need it most,” Cruz said. “We invite our community to continue being part of this mission: investing in education is investing in the future of Puerto Rico.”
The Foundation also recognized its founder José Enrique Fernández and his family, as well as donors, partners, staff, students, and alumni who continue to support the organization’s mission.
