AgroRecursos launches free platform for farmers

AgroRecursos, a free digital platform designed to connect farmers and food producers with resources, has officially launched in Puerto Rico.
Developed by La Colaborativa, a group of nonprofit organizations focused on food security, the tool centralizes market prices, funding opportunities and a wide range of agricultural services.
“AgroRecursos was born as a collective effort to make visible, connect and strengthen Puerto Rico’s agricultural and agribusiness ecosystem,” the founding team said. “We aren’t an organization; we’re a collaborative platform built together with those who daily cultivate the island’s future.”
The platform took more than two years to build and already has users in all 78 municipalities. It offers a monthly price guide showing how products are valued across the supply chain — from imports to sales by farmers, supermarkets, restaurants and family markets.
“Understanding the state of our food system through numbers is not an option; it’s an urgent necessity,” said Ana Rodríguez of AgroInnova and a member of La Colaborativa.
Project Manager Ricardo Burgos said AgroRecursos will continue evolving: “We’re pleased with the openness with which the Department of Agriculture received and supported the project.”
Farmer Decenia Vega praised the initiative. “Seeing so many organizations working together to support the food sector gives me hope,” she said.
