KPMG LLP, one of the largest professional services companies in the world, has been tapped as the financial consultant for Novotren, the Caguas-San Juan commuter train project.
It is billed as the First Loíza St. Festival and if all works out, this "block party" planned for Aug. 4, a Sunday, along one of San Juan's best-known roads, could well become a yearly event that benefits area businesses and entertains the masses.
The long shuttered Normandie Hotel, a national historic site and one of San Juan's iconic buildings, may finally have a buyer. Hector Aponte, business director of NAI Puerto Rico, one of two real estate firms handling the sale of the property, said that a stateside company has signed an option to purchase the hotel from its owner, New York-based Capmark Finance Inc.
